What Information Do We Need To Provide A Quote
A Part Number or Product Number, in addition to the number of rolls you require is ideal! However, if you do not have a FLI Tape Product or Part Number, we can still help. Do you have a drawing or photograph of the FLI Tape you would like Privateer to provide a quote for? Like the saying goes…a picture is worth more a thousand words! Thing To Know About FLI Tape Products
Part Number:
FLI Tape products for Aerospace each have a specific product or part number! Part numbers are assigned by the manufacturer and typically include a grouping of letters and numbers. In addition, the product number may also include hyphens followed by a suffix.
Let’s take a look at the following product number in table above. BACT11DB-H1. The first 4 letters indicate this is a BOEING product part number. Other manufacturers are indicated by another grouping of letters/numbers, for example SS9030 is a product number specific to SIKORSKY and ST9M389P is a BOEING/MCDONNELL DOUGLAS product number. If you are able to provide us with a product number quoting becomes much easier!
Privateer has a large catalog of Fluid Line Identification (FLI) Tape Specifications and drawings as we have been in business since 1972. Our tubing and fluid line identification tape catalog includes Product Numbers representing specifications for the majority of commercial and military Aerospace and Aircraft Manufacturers throughout the world.
Aircraft System:
Product numbers for FLI Tapes and ID Tapes for other rigid or non rigid aircraft tubing lines also include a series of letters/numbers indicating what aircraft system the tape is designed to be used for. For example, is the tape being used to identify a fuel, hydraulic, lubrication, air conditioning or pneumatic line? Referencing the product number BACT11DB-H1, the “H1” indicates this is a tape used for a HYDRAULIC System line within an aircraft.
Variable Information:
In addition to colors and symbols, FLI Tapes also include specific text and words that describe the use or aircraft system. In the Table above, the word HYDRAULIC is printed/required. Spacing of the letters and spacing in between the text are critical and specific for each part number. Other variable information on FLI tapes include Vent, Drain, and Press. There are many others.
Size – Width and Length of Continuous FLI Tape Rolls:
Typically, the FLI Tapes manufactured are either 1″ Wide or 2″ Wide and range from 36 – 72 Yards.
Tape Material of Construction:
Continuous FLI label tape is designed specifically for the identification of the various tubes and pipes used in commercial and military aircraft, missile and space systems throughout the world. The color coding and symbols printed on the tape materials meet MIL-STD-1247 standards. In addition, the material (Mylar, Fiberglass, Vinyl, Imprintable) meets the performance requirements of MIL-T-9906, BPS-T-151 and customer specifications as well. In many cases, FLI Taped Product Numbers contain a letter or letters that indicated what material is used in the construction and manufacturing of that particular part number.
Quantity in ROLLS
Privateer LTD has a one roll minimum order quantity. We typically quote the number of rolls and the price per roll depending on the Part Number. Some FLI Tape rolls measure 36 yards in length while other rolls measure 72 yards. The quantity of rolls will depend on several factors including, but not limited to the total length of piping, the diameter of pipe/tubing and the specification you are complying with.
